Business English Competences MinasEva

"Business English Competences" is a course for learners of business English and businesspeople with at least Upper-Intermediate/Advanced level of English (CEFL B2) who understand and express the key concepts of business and economics.

"Business English Competences" is developed based on Reading extracts, Case studies and Ted talks which cover topics of great interest to everyone involved in international business. The course objectives are: to expand learners’ competences related to the language and concepts of business and economics found in Ted talks and Cases; to enhance their comprehension of business and economic terminology; to foster language skills in the major fields of business and economics; to develop critical/analytical thinking skills, and speech making skills; to provide opportunities to express business concepts both verbally and in writing, by analyzing, criticizing and discussing ideas.

The course comprises: 1. READING parts - introducing the core issues of the business topic under study with exercises. 2. VIDEOS/Ted talks that contain authentic speeches of businesspeople and professionals. Students will develop listening skills such as listening for information and note-taking. 3. CASE STUDIES - based on realistic business problems or situations and allow the learners to use the language and communication skills related to the specific theme. They give them an opportunity to practise speaking skills in realistic business situations.
